Hiring Event for Local Youth on Oct. 25

The Hamilton County Summer Youth Employment Program has extended into the fall and will feature three workshops this month at the Ohio Means Jobs Cincinnati-Hamilton County building, including a hiring event.

The “My Life” employment program is designed to develop responsible, well-trained young people for employment. Orientation included training on how to fill out an application and resume, soft skills to employment, work place etiquette, proper attire and mock interviewing.

Refresher courses will be held on Oct. 11 and 18, and on Oct. 25, Ohio Means Jobs will host a Youth Hiring Event. Here is the schedule:

  • Oct. 11, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Workshop on filling out resumes and applications and the effects of social media on employment.
  • Oct. 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Workshop on appropriate dress for interviews and work and how to answer difficult questions. This will be followed by mock interviews.
  • Oct. 25, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Young people age 17 to 24 can connect with local businesses and organizations to discuss employment.
