Discounts available for SNAP recipients

With the weather warming outside and the children’s museum set to reopen in a few days, it’s a good time to remind Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program (SNAP) recipients that there are discounts available to them for some of Cincinnati’s most popular things to do:

Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden offers a family membership for SNAP participants for $35 as well as other discounted tickets.

One SNAP recipient recently sent this note to the zoo.

I wanted to say thank you so much for allowing people with EBT cards to receive such a wonderful discount. Yesterday I took my 8 and 3 year old for $13! We are grateful because otherwise we would not be able to afford to go. We absolutely enjoyed our day. The park was beautiful, the flowers were so fragrant and stunning. All of the staff were friendly. We truly enjoyed our visit. I broke down in tears just overwhelmed that your discount provided us with the opportunity to visit and make forever memories together. I truly appreciate it. Please let the person’s involved with making this discount possible that’s is very much appreciated. Have a great day!

Cincy Red Bike offers its GO Pass for just $5 for anyone with a SNAP card.

The Duke Energy Children’s Museum at the Cincinnati Museum Center offers free parking and $2 admission to the children’s museum for SNAP participants. The museum has been closed while undergoing renovation, but is expected to reopen this weekend.
