When she lived in Columbus a few years back, Georgia Frakes saw an interview on TV with a family services worker around Christmas. The woman mentioned that while they received many gift donations for children in foster care, they didn’t get many African-American dolls. Frakes decided to donate some. And she has done so every year since.

This year, she donated 25 dolls to Hamilton County Job & Family Services. “It’s important for kids to get dolls that look like them,” she said.

The children in foster care at HCJFS come from diverse backgrounds. Frakes’ donation will bring smiles to several children’s faces this holiday season.
