Learn About Adoption in Hamilton County

As part of Hamilton County Job and Family Services’ many duties, the agency is constantly looking for loving, devoted and supportive families willing to adopt a child from foster care.

Not every child in foster care is available for adoption, but when circumstances prevent a child from being returned to his or her parents, HCJFS begins recruiting families that might be interested in giving the child a forever home.

While our most successful recruitment tool is our foster parents – who are generally offered the first opportunity to be matched with a child – not every foster parent is able to adopt.

One of our most important recruitment tools for adoption is our website, www.hckids.org. At HCKids, prospective parents are able to search our full list of waiting children in our “photolisting.” Parents are able to view boys, girls and siblings that are waiting, and in many cases, eager to find a forever family. In many cases prospective parents can even view short movies of the children to get a better sense of their personalities.

If you or someone you know is considering adoption, the best time to start is now. Visit www.hckids.org to learn more about adopting through Hamilton County and to view the kids waiting to meet you.
