HCJFS Honors 48 Graduates

48 high school graduates were invited to celebrate their achievement with HCJFS at the Celebration of Dreams dinner June 12.

The annual event recognizes the foster youth in HCJFS care who beat the odds to graduate high school.

For many of the graduates, graduation is just a beginning as they go on to college, trade school or other successful careers.

This year's event featured country music singer, songwriter and foster care advocate Jimmy Wayne.

Many of the graduates have plans to attend college this fall.

Director Moira Weir congratulates the graduates for a job well done.

Lincoln Ware, the voice of Cincinnati, has been a long time partner in the Celebration of Dreams dinner.

Jimmy Wayne performes for the graduates. Wayne also told his story of what it was like to be abandoned and placed in foster care.

The 2013 event was held at the 20th Century Theatre in Oakley.

Brian Sherrill, featured in June's Update, searches for his photo at the conclusion of the event.
