Did You Know? Use SuperJobs.com to Aid Your Job Search
In July, Hamilton County
Job and Family Services absorbed operation of the SuperJobs Center,
Hamilton County's one-stop employment center.
The SuperJobs Center
assists job seekers in finding the right job through free educational
workshops, career coaching and job leads. The SuperJobs Center also
helps employers find the best candidates by posting openings and
recruiting and screening applicants.
Since HCJFS began
operating the center, the agency has tried to improve access to
services. As a result, much information can be found online at
www.superjobs.com.
For many job seekers, the
first point of interaction with the SuperJobs Center is attending an
orientation that details the center's services. In addition, there are nearly 20
different workshops aimed at helping job seekers improve their resume,
learn how to interview, navigate barriers to employment, use the
internet in their job search, learn how to use Microsoft Word and Excel
and other important skills. All of these workshops
can be found at
www.superjobs.com/Calendar.htm.
Also, SuperJobs
regularly partners with area employers to host hiring events. The events
are free and open to members of the public interested in applying for
the advertised positions. All hiring events can be found at
www.superjobs.com/HiringEvents.htm
Job seekers can find the
a jobs board
online, too, at
www.superjobs.com/FeaturedJobs.htm. The
jobs board features jobs with local employers who need
qualified candidates. Many of the jobs on the job board can also be
found at www.OhioMeansJobs.com.
But not all will be found there, so check back frequently for updates.
In addition, job seekers
can find a number of online job search tools, such as search engines and
links to major local companies, at
www.superjobs.com.
Employers can get help
online, too. Employers searching for
qualified employees can access free services
-- such as recruitment and screening or
assistance paying for on-the-job training -- by filling out an information request at
www.hcjfs.org/SuperJobsForm/Staffing.htm
Some of the most
important SuperJobs services -- career coaches and veteran's services --
can only be offered in-person. Be sure to stop by the SuperJobs
Center at 1916 Central Parkway or call (513) 946-7200 for additional
help.
