New section chief brings experience from Clermont County

Our new Children’s Services ongoing section chief comes to HCJFS from Clermont County, where she worked for more than a decade.

Tina Pocock joined the staff two weeks ago. She oversees five managers and about 19 caseworkers in Family Services 1. She began by meeting everyone and speaking to all the managers. Now she is having sit-down meetings with all of her workers.

She loved working in Clermont County, where she had been a supervisor for the last 5 ½ years. But she sees her new position as an “opportunity to move forward, to learn new things. Every county’s a little bit different. I think for me to keep growing as a social worker, I need to keep moving forward.”

She still considers herself a social worker, something she is proud to be, she said, because she worked hard to achieve it.

Pocock hasn’t made any big plans for change yet. She said she feels like she brings good practice and policy skills from her previous position, so she will be honing those here and learning how this larger agency works before deciding on any changes.

She and her husband have three children, ages 7, 6 and 2.
