April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, we wear blue to show our support for awareness. Thanks to everyone who waved and honked during our group photo this morning. 

Today is Wear Blue Day to promote awareness of child abuse. Our staff got in the spirit. 

Moira Weir, director of our agency, started in social work in 1993. She has been involved in many cases in the years since and has seen the effects of domestic violence on women and their children.

Hamilton County’s Board of County Commissioners issued a proclamation Wednesday naming April Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month in Hamilton County and April 12 as Wear Blue to Work Day.

The proclamation was issued after commissioners heard from Director Moira Weir on the large increases in Children’s Services caseloads and the many abused and neglected children being served by the agency.
